Thankful...Day 6
Day...6 of Thankfulness
Hi on this beautiful day to be an American! I am sitting here in a mess of Christmas decor, Fox news on the tv and a little doggie snoring at my feet.
I am thankful today that we will know who our President will be for the next four years...very soon. After tonight we won't have any more debates and news media trying to figure out who is going to win. :-)
I hope that you all voted and have a wonderful Election Day!
p.s. Have a cup of coffee...it always makes things better. :-)

Thankful...day 3, 4 & 5
Since day three and four hit on the weekend I am playing "catch-up" here.
Day 3
I am thankful for weekends! This Saturday, Tom and I drove to the little town of Brenham. It is about an hour from us. It is the home of Blue Bell ice cream. We had a good time walking through the town and looking through the stores. It was filled with antique shops which the kids hate so we browsed to our hearts content. We had a nice lunch before driving back home with a Starbucks stop on the way home. :-)
Day 4
Today we (Tom & I ) took a much needed relaxing day. We were up a little early thanks to the time change and enjoyed a 2 1/2 mile walk through the nature preserve that is right by our home. The day was a little cooler and so beautiful out! There was only a few other people on the trail so we took our time and read all the signs about wildlife and explored some trails we hadn't been on before. So, I am thankful for lazy weekends. Hope you all had a great weekend, too!

Today is Day 5 of thankfulness and I can hardly believe that it is the 5th of November already! There are some people that think it's funny to let me know how many more days until Christmas and it throws me into a complete tizzy!!! I am working on trees today and will post all the pictures when I am finished. Give me another week or so... My house is full of boxes and ladders right now! Ugh!
I ran over to Hobby Lobby to pick up some more lights this afternoon and of course HAD to wander around. I was good...only picked up the lights and some ribbon. :-) In my wanderings I came across some stockings that were about 4 feet tall and I'm thinking hmmmm.... you see, my oldest informed me that this year only one gift, plus stockings. Get my drift...? LOL I'm banking on the fact here that she is too busy with school and work to read my post. hehe
So today I am thankful for a child who is trying to keep my Christmas a little under budget this year. We will see who wins... :-)

Thankful...for freedom
Day 2 of Thankfulness
Today I voted!!! Also, I have two kids that were first time voters. It was really neat to get to share this time in history with them. The line was REALLY long, but I was impressed how quickly it moved and everyone was respectful. A very good experience for my first time voters.
So today, I am thankful for the freedom to vote. To make a choice on whom I would LOVE to see in the White House. Haven't voted yet? Please VOTE! It's your privilege. Not sure who to vote for? Maybe I can help... :-)
She is so Beautiful! :-)

Thankful...friends
Today starts the 30 days of being thankful. Going to try my best to keep up here! This morning I meet with two friends over some coffee to go over plans for the Ladies Ornament Exchange that is coming in December. We did pretty good staying on track. :-) I am looking forward to it and hope we have a good turn out.
Last year this time we were living in Maryland and altho' it is a gorgeous place to live with so many things to see and do...it's just not the same as having family and friends close by.
So today, I am thankful for friends that I can go meet over a cup of coffee and have a chat and plan a few things...or two! :-)

Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

Fall Decor Part 2
Here are a few more pictures before all the Christmas comes out! Starting tomorrow... I know...it sounds early to get started on Christmas, but I do more than one tree and I am having the church Ladies Ornament exchange at the beginning of December here...so I gotta get busy! :-) Hope you all are having a wonderful Fall so far! Don't forget to change you clocks this weekend!
This is in the entrance to the living room...
The living room...I love that there is just one living area...that means we are all together! :-)
From the kitchen...
On my buffet that Tom bought me when we moved here...my fave piece in the house a the moment...can't wait to decorate it for Christmas since it is red! :-)
Looking out the back windows...it's a little dark, but the sky was looking so pretty at sunset.
Where we eat ( I think we have had one meal in the dining room)...game room to the left...pool table and my computer in there. Will get some pictures of the kitchen when it is clean. HA!

Fall Decor part 1
Taken from the hallway where the laundry room, butler's pantry & walk-in pantry are located. Leads to the kitchen & garage. |
Since we have a lot of family that doesn't live close by and get to
visit our new home...I decided to post some pics from around the house.
Don't look too close...you will find a vacuum, shoes and possibly dogs.
Haha! Some are too dark, but bear with me...I'm STILL
trying to figure out my camera. Man these things are complicated! But I
digress... I will post more, but for today it is mainly the front of
the house... Enjoy! A few more days until I start decorating for
Christmas! *sigh...
Dining Room from hallway |
Another angle from Hallway. |

Front door and part of the "Reading Room"...theres my shoes! LOL |
A little further in the hallway. |
In the hallway...the hallway is about 24' from the front door to the living area...yep, I measured! :-) A booger to decorate! |
Fall table decor. |
To the left of the dining table. |
The reading room...looking for some "comfy" furniture for this room. |
Close up of part of the bookcase. |
Hallway to the right leads to the boy's bedrooms and a bathroom. The clock looks really small in this picture...in person it works. :-) |
